Golden Bay

Golden Bay is situated on the North-Western tip of the South Island, New Zealand. This is the home of the Te Waikoropupu Fresh Water Springs, which is the clearest water in the World.

Golden Bay has beautiful golden sand beaches with crystal clear blue water. There are several bush walks in Golden Bay through beautiful native ferns and bush, some walks for the young and some for the older generation.

Golden Bay is the gateway for the Abel Tasman National Park's walks and Kahurangi National Park tracks, including the Heaphy Track. There is also plenty for the kids at Bencarri Farm with all the different animals and tame eels.

Not far from Takaka is Anatoki Salmon where you can catch your own salmon and get it smoked while you wait. We advise two to three days to visit the arts and crafts people of Golden Bay.

Customer Feedback

“We were up there for a funeral and the owner kindly let us into the unit early so we could change and freshen up. Much appreciated.”

“It was a very large room with a couch, coffee table, beds, TV and dining room table for the price we paid. The large size of the room was the first thing I noticed. The motel also had a large backyard area with play equipment, which I haven't seen in a motel in a long time. The owners were very friendly and they had two really awesome cats.”
