I enjoyed my stay at Golden Bay Motel. It is all ground floor; very spacious units, clean and comfortable. I appreciated that there are only seven units; makes it seem more homely in contrast to the large multi story complexes. The host was very friendly. Fixed my tv which I managed to get off air. Of course the beautiful scenery around Takaka is absolutely gorgeous. Lots of cafes in walking distance I highly recommend the Golden Bay Motel in Takaka.

Super clean and tidy. Full kitchen facilities, could cook a great meal which was helpful to keep the costs down. Excellent shower pressure. Free WiFi. Free laundry. Friendly and responsive service. Sunny patios. Cute sunny garden and playground. I saw some kids make friends with other kids in the motel on the playground which was awesome and adorable. Walking distance to Takaka shops. Extremely easy to check in.

The pictures don't do the room justice! Fantastic welcome, great room with views to the beautiful garden. Parking outside of the room. Good kitchen area and lovely shower room.

An older motel. Rooms are attractively decorated, and the back garden / lawn area is very pretty and appealing. Large 2-bedroom unit was roomy. Full kitchen. Quiet.

Everything was globally great, special mention for the lovely garden and free washing machine.

We have stayed in a lot of motels recently and Golden Bay Motels was one of the best. We loved the 3 bed unit with the large space, the quietness of this spot and the lovely native plantings out the lounge door. Fantastic well done.

First time ever in Takaka and this place was pleasant. Dated and felt like I was staying at grandmas but thats not a bad thing. Spacious, clean, had everything we needed and Lex was very easy to deal with. He also upgraded us for free to a 2 bedroom unit instead of the studio unit which with 2 toddlers was a godsend!! Very close to town, a 2 minute bike ride down the road. Great central location to go on drives out to different beaches or the Anatoki Salmon farm, highly recommend this if you have kids. Free shed to keep the bikes in, free washing amenities which is great when you're constantly at the beach and bringing half of it back with you.
